How to set up The Padre Tent
Caring for your tent
Cleaning
- To wash your tarp, scrub with soapy water and then rinse. A large car brush works well for this. Always air dry
- Rinse the poles thoroughly with water after use in sand or dirt. The bottom cap of each pole is removable to wash the inside of the pole out.
- The stakes should only need a little brush off if they get dirty.
Pole Maintenance
- Do not overtighten the twist lock as this can damage the locking mechanism. Once the lock is hand tight, it should be good
- Always clean the poles after use in sand or dirt. Sand can get into the twist lock and damage the locking mechanism
- Do not bend the pole sideways. The poles are extremely durable from top-down forces but can be damaged if bent sideways too hard.
Tarp Maintenance
- If you get a hole in your tarp (from a cactus, nail, etc), you can patch it with any nylon, polyester, or oxford patch.
- Depending on the severity of the tear, you should be able to fly the tent with no problem
Bag Maintenace
- Make sure the zipper is free of any sand, dirt, or debris before zipping
